The role:
To support the Sales Financial Controller. In this highly visible role, you’ll provide both strategic and day-to-day financial support to the Commercial team, ensuring robust financial reporting, insightful analysis and accurate forecasting. You’ll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
What you’ll do:
Partner with Sales teams to provide financial insight and commercial challenge.
Manage customer P&Ls and support customer business planning.
Contribute to Sales Business Reviews and commercial decision-making.
Build strong relationships across Commercial teams to influence decisions early.
Attend customer meetings and support Joint Business Planning (JBP) activities.
Provide support with debt resolution and day-to-day commercial queries
Review, analyse and challenge commercial forecasts, risks and opportunities.
Deliver meaningful financial insights on customer and brand performance.
Explain variances against budget, prior forecasts and previous year performance.
Reconcile Customer Net Sales Value (NSV).
Produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Provide commentary on key drivers of business performance
Support monthly promotional planning processes.
Complete pre- and post-promotion evaluations.
Analyse performance against forecast and prior year results
Prepare and post journals.
Support month-end reporting activities.
Work closely with the Sales Financial Controller throughout financial cycles.
Ensure all commercial commitments comply with company governance and approval processes
Lead the annual budgeting process for your business area.
Partner with Commercial teams to develop robust plans that achieve business targets
What you’ll bring:
Degree-qualified in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders effectively.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Financial modelling and analytical expertise.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience working with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation
