We’re working with a highly respected independent accountancy practice in Wigan that’s continuing to grow and is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join its friendly and supportive team.

What you’ll be doing

Working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, you’ll gain exposure across a range of accounting responsibilities, including:

✅ Preparing statutory and management accounts
✅ Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries
✅ Reviewing financial records and resolving accounting issues
✅ Building strong relationships with business owners and clients
✅ Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring deadlines are met
✅ Assisting with audit assignments during busy periods

No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and client interaction.

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:

✔ Previous experience working within an accountancy practice (essential)
✔ Experience using Xero, Sage or other cloud-based accounting software
✔ Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
✔ A proactive approach with great organisational skills
✔ Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
